Summer pool parties are the best. We’ve spent the afternoon and evening at a friend’s place for her birthday today and we have had a great time.
Life doesn’t suck…
because of summer pool parties with great friends
Ten years ago I made friends with a couple that I met through cars. I soon found out that one of them came from the same place as me. Her parents have an amazing property not far from where we live.
This afternoon we went over to their place to celebrate her birthday. They have been travelling and working around the world in various exciting jobs and have finally moved back here for a while.
We’d never been to her parents’ house, so it was quite exciting going there for the first time. The house has an amazing garden with numerous sculptures dotted around it.
Sitting in front of the house is a pool that looks like it’s been taken from a Pacific Island resort. The pool looks out over the whole of the harbour with views stretching for miles and miles. It’s an absolutely amazing place to be.
Overlooking the pool is a Fijian style bure, a small hut providing shelter from the sun. We sat in the bure for the afternoon chatting, snacking and drinking. A cool breeze was blowing through keeping us nice and cool out of the scorching sun.
Just before dinner, we moved down to the pool. The water in the pool is solar heated and was a warm thirty-one degrees. We floated in the pool while dinner was cooking.
After a barbecue dinner, we were taken on a tour of the garden and the surrounding bush paths. The property has taken a lot of hard work and is absolutely beautiful.
We had an amazing afternoon and evening and I came home thankful for great friendships with awesome people and truly grateful for awesome times spent with them.
