Exciting projects are sometimes few and far between for me. There is the work I would like to do and the work that people want me to do. One of these jobs landed on my doorstep today when I was visited by someone with a project that got me excited.
It’s always good when a project shows up that I know I’m going to enjoy. Something that gets my creative juices flowing. I like a challenge, but I like that challenge even more if it’s something I’m interested in.
Life doesn’t suck…
because I get to do exciting projects
Today’s visitor wanted to know if I knew of someone that could do a particular job. I asked for some details on it and the more he told me about it, the more I was interested. This was my kind of challenge.
I’d been looking into a particular technology for a while. Thankfully, it seemed like a perfect match for this job. This means that I can learn more about this technology while using the job as a learning experience. I’m not talking about the learning experience where things go wrong and you think “I’ll learn from this experience”. This will be a positive experience.
I’m itching to make a start on the job and have already been collecting resources. I’ve found a series of videos that should be really helpful. I feel like I’m looking forward to working through them and learning what I need to get the job done.
This is an experience I’m looking forward to. I’m grateful that these projects turn up. I’m glad to have the opportunity to learn on the job. It’s nice when a job shows up unexpectedly and you can look forward to it.
