Gratitude, Day 64: I am grateful for long weekends

Long weekends are awesome. I love the four days on, three days off balance. It really works for me.

Life doesn’t suck…
because of long weekends

Three days actually feels like a break. It’s amazing waking up on a Monday without an alarm. A two day weekend feels like you’re trying to squeeze all your weekend activities in.

Since I am self-employed I’m really hoping that I can work my way into a four on, three off pattern over the next year. I think that this feeling of rest after a working week will help with productivity and make me feel better about my week.

Seventy-two hours without work is great. This weekend has been pretty relaxing on the whole. We watched a lot of Netflix and went to a birthday party. We stopped in and spent some time with a friend who lives an hour away while waiting to pick someone up and spent some great time together.

This year I plan to keep on top of rest and stress and enjoy my work a lot more. Going into a new week feeling rested is a great start for me. Having time to stop, rest and enjoy myself has felt great. I want to focus more on self-care and make sure that I’m in my best condition. I have big goals and I want to give myself the best chance of achieving them.

We’re in a pretty cool time of the year where we have the majority of our public holidays. There are going to be a bunch of long weekends and short weeks over the next four months. I’m grateful for these long weekends and looking forward to making the most o them.
