Gratitude, Day 65: I am grateful for summer

Summer is easily my favourite season. I love being warm, being able to wear shorts and a t-shirt with jandals all day.

Life doesn’t suck…
because of summer

I went to the supermarket at 9 am this morning. The sun was already beating down and my phone was sure that it was twenty-one degrees. It was amazing to feel the sun on my skin.

Being warm and in the sun makes me feel good. I don’t think it’s possible to be sad when the sun is kissing your skin. I always feel better through the summer months. In contrast, I get depressed when I’m stuck inside and I have to wear jeans and shoes.

I love that the sun is still up after 8 pm and that you can work all day and still be able to do things after work. Tonight we’ve been to visit the house we will be moving into shortly. We measured some things up to double-check sizing for a couple of potential projects we want to do. You can’t do that in the dark and the rain.

Being able to swim outside is another bonus of summer. I like my water nice and warm when I swim. I’ve never been a fan of icy water. Hopping in the water and feeling refreshed without being shocked by the cold is great. Water is my favourite place to exercise. I don’t like getting sweaty when I exercise, so being cooled by the water as I swim is the best.

I am definitely a summer person. I’m glad we still have a good amount of warm weather left this summer. I am grateful for everything summer has to offer.
