I really value people who give without expecting. I have a friend who is constantly giving more than she’s taking. These people are what makes the world a great place. Selfless givers.
Life doesn’t suck…
because of people who give without expecting
My friend runs a local creative tech group. She’s only lived in Whangarei a short time, but in that time she’s achieved more than some local politicians and councillors.
She’s humble to a fault. It’s never about what you can give her or what she can gain from an interaction. She seems to be only motivated by helping others and doing good for people.
I’ve only known her a short time, but consider her a great friend and know that it will be a long-term friendship. I aspire to do as much for others as she does.
It really puts things into perspective when you see someone move into a new city and spend all their spare time doing good things for that city. She had never lived here before. Whangarei didn’t owe her anything and she’s just given and given and given.
The group that she runs connects many skilled people. I had a similar group before she came along, but was humbled by what she was achieving with her group and haven’t put as much effort into my group as I probably could have.
She invited me to speak at an event she’s been busting her ass to organise the other day. I was honoured to speak at it. I spoke about being self-employed and working freelance. This was an amazing opportunity and one I’m so grateful for.
I’m unbelievably grateful for this amazing woman and all other people who give without expecting. Because they make our lives better.
