Skills: the ability to do something well; expertise. I’m good at my job. Because of this, I have a high level of demand. People recommend me because of me being good at my job.
Life doesn’t suck…
because I have a great set of skills.
Today I flew my drone and recorded video at a wedding. I was recommended by a videographer who wasn’t available. I don’t do videography for a job and I only fly my drone for recreation usually.
The videographer had got me to do some drone video once for a job when their usual drone operator wasn’t available. I obviously impressed them enough for them to recommend me when they were asked if they could do video at this wedding. I’m grateful that I am skilled enough with my drone that they considered me and recommended me.
In my day to day job, I have a constant stream of new work coming in. Existing clients recommend me to others. I have successes in my work when I look at what I’ve done and think, “damn, that was clever”. I’m constantly learning in my job and developing new skills. Each new project I do benefits from the skills I have gained from the last job.
I currently have about 4 different people bringing me constant work because they recognise my skills and how they benefit their workflows. People I haven’t even done work for recommend me because they have heard I am good at my job.
I’m grateful for my skills in my job and my adaptability, it makes finding work easy, and my skill set is constantly increasing. I am grateful for the demand this puts me in and knowing that I have a safe stream of work.
