During my career so far, I have collected a really good bunch of clients. I’m grateful for the work they give me. I am grateful for the clients they refer to me. I am grateful for the relationships I have with them.
Life doesn’t suck…
because I have a great bunch of clients.
I’ve been very lucky to collect a lot of great people as clients. One of my clients falls into the category of client/business partner. We have worked together since we studied together in 2010. Over this time we have built a relationship where we work very well together. It’s become a bit of a mutual back-scratching scenario.
We have worked together on jobs for quite a big shared client for the last 6 or so years. This year she came to me and said, “Hey, our client wants to put us both on a retainer”. I didn’t really have any idea what this involved and made a couple of suggestions of what I could offer. A deal came back much higher than what I was expecting and I have been doing weekly work for this retainer client for around 8 months now. When I said to her, “I really owe you for this”, her response was, “no you don’t, you’ve continuously gone above and beyond for me since I first met you”.
It really makes me feel good to be valued. It shows that the hard work I put in for people is not in vain and it’s noticed. I’ve never really been a big believer in karma. But over the last three years, I feel like all the karma I have gained has been paying off big time. I am super grateful that my clients value me so much, this makes business much more enjoyable.
