Gratitude, Day 78: I am grateful that I care about my people

I care about my people. I make sure that they are ok and that they have what they need. My people are important to me.

Life doesn’t suck…
because I care about my people

It’s important to me that the people I care about are ok. The people that I let near me are the people that mean a lot to me. If I like someone enough to let them into my inner circle they are going to be treated like they are family.

I’ve been brought up to treat others how I want them to treat me. This is something I’ve talked about before. I’ve talked about how during school it didn’t always work out because other kids hadn’t been brought up with the same values. Because of this, they didn’t play by the same rules.

Now that I’m an adult I’ve found much higher returns on treating others how I expect them to treat me. My closest friends treat me just as well as I treat them. It’s great knowing that people have your back. This feeling is what makes me go the extra mile to treat the people dearest to me well. I want them to feel that great feeling of support too.

Today I could see that someone I care about wasn’t one hundred percent happy. I took the time to find out what was going on and helped find a way to improve things for them. They make my life easier by helping with the work I do, so anything I can do for them to make their life easier just feels fair.

I like knowing that I care about my people. It makes me feel good about myself and is good for my conscience.
