Gratitude, Day 52: I am grateful for my thirst for information.

I have a thirst for information. I’m constantly seeking more information. I read, watch YouTube videos and spend lots of time on Google.

I’ve always been a bit of a researcher. Growing up why was one of my favourite questions. I devoured books. Often reading until the early hours of the morning.

Life doesn’t suck…
because I have a thirst for information

I used to read the manual for poppa’s car every time I went for a drive with him. Learning about what everything was and what it did. I knew every little feature and function that his car had and probably knew more of the nitty-gritty information about the car than he did.

Early in high school I discovered car magazines. I bought so many magazines that I could probably have bought a car with the money I’d spent by the end of high school. I’d read every magazine cover to cover soaking up all the information available to me.

Once the magazines weren’t enough I moved onto books. Four Stroke Perfomance Tuning was one I read cover to cover at an early age. This covered engines in-depth and how they work and how to get more power from them.

Then the internet came along and there were huge amounts of information available. One of the journalists from the magazines I was reading wrote for a website called Autospeed. The articles on this site were deeply technical and very informative.

Now that I have access to the internet I can research anything. I can find out how to cook better. There are reviews for all the different products I want to buy. I can find everything I need for my work.

I’m constantly reading, learning more and more on the subjects that I need to know about or that I’m interested in. I want to know more. I’ll come up with a question that I want an answer to and jump on Google and disappear down a rabbit hole of information.

I’m grateful that I have this thirst for information and am constantly seeking more information. It’s great to keep extending my knowledge and finding out more and more.
