Gratitude, Day 4: Networking and connecting

Over the last couple of years, I have found a real passion for networking and connecting people. I have learned that I get a lot of joy from meeting other business people and talking to them about what they do. I am grateful for this passion and the skills I have.

Life doesn’t suck…
because I am good at networking and connecting people

I have been involved in numerous networking groups which have brought people together, created friendships and got people jobs. It’s highly satisfying to sit at a table with a group of people and know that you have helped bring these people together.

I believe strongly in networking and referral being organic. You shouldn’t be pushed to refer people just because you network with them. Because of this, I have always gravitated toward networking groups where I would be comfortable doing business with everyone in the group, making referring people to them is a no-brainer. This keeps the integrity and quality of the connections.

I have helped people gain employment through the connections I have made. For example, I have had someone referred to me who was looking for work. I gave them work experience in my business before convincing them of their value and worth and talking them into applying for a job we found with a local employer. I am good at connecting people and I am grateful for these skills.

One of my favourite networking groups is Creative Tech Northland. I have introduced people to the group that I know are going to enjoy it and have seen a lot of them attend multiple meetups. I have made friends from this group and I am grateful for what this group has given me.
