Lazy weekends are few and far between in our house. After a long string of busy weekends with jobs and events planned I like having some time out to relax.
Life doesn’t suck…
because I love lazy weekends with few or no plans.
This morning I got out of bed and went to the markets. There I chatted with friends, discussing business and life and got meat and vegetables for the week. Because I had no plans and everyone else was at home and still in bed once that was done, I went to work and played a computer game that had been waiting until I had a spare moment to try.
It’s not often that I don’t have a weekend where I don’t have a list of things I need to do and my Saturday planned long before I get to it. Most weekends have a job planned for at least one of us or a bunch of tasks that need to be done.
I’ve had a pretty big week this week and have a busy week of Christmas parties next week. I got to the end of the week and felt like my biggest achievement was surviving the week. Sitting at my computer this morning zoned out playing games and eating ice cream felt amazing. It felt like a great end to the week and a great way to wind down.
I am always grateful to relax and unwind without worrying about where I need to be next. Sometimes taking time out to do very little feels like a small holiday. These small holidays are a great way to recharge the batteries and leave me feeling refreshed.
