Gratitude, Day 35: I am grateful for summer holidays.

There is nothing quite like summer holidays. I’m really busy with work at the moment, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t squeeze in a day at the beach here and there.

Life doesn’t suck…
because I love summer holidays.

I’m much happier in the summer. There is a possibility that I’m solar powered. I love nothing more than a trip to the beach, catching some waves and finishing off with fish and chips.

I worked Friday and I’m working tomorrow (Monday). We managed to get to the beach on Friday evening where we spent some time in the waves. After this, we had fish and chips for dinner overlooking the beach which we followed with ice creams.

Yesterday we bought some stuff for the house at the Boxing Day sales and got a new pool lounger. I spent about an hour floating around the pool on it before being told there was a barbecue lunch ready to eat.

Today we went to our local beach and spent a couple of hours in the surf. I’ve spent a lot of time in the water on a bodyboard so it’s always great to get in the water after a busy year. We finished the day off with yet another trip to the fish and chip shop.

Nothing says Kiwi summer to me more than trips to the beach, lounging in the pool, having barbecue lunch and fish and chips. It’s great to be out of the office, have sand between your toes and warm sunny weather. I’m grateful that our kiwi summers are so good and that we live so close to the beach so are able to easily pop out for a swim.
